Someone Horked My Wheel-Barrow!

So, I realize that way too often I find myself leaving my moderately valuable belongings unsecured, a target for theft. And you think I'd be more conscientious of this seeing as how my newly developed neighborhood is a high risk area for thievery. So far I've had a jerry can of petrol stolen, and someone took off with my neighbors somewhat secured garbage cans (odd, I know). SO, I guess I should've been smart enough to lock up, or at least hide my very precious wheel-barrow. But I didn't. And last night as I left the house, I realized she was gone. Someone ran off with her. I wasn't impressed to say the least, so when I got home, I got out my Hardy Boys kit and stared my investigation. I checked out the foot prints and wheel-barrow tread marks in the snow out back, and drove up the heavily used lane trying to find any sign of continued tracks. And I did! They were sporadic because of the well used lane, but I managed to follow them for a ways away from my house. I came to a point at which the foot prints pushing my cart had done a u turn and headed back towards my house. I was a bit frustrated that I seemed to be running out of options, so I drove up and down the lane trying to find some sign of these criminals and their hideous crime. I parked my car behind my garage, and followed the lane the other way on foot, shining my torch this way and that, until the lumens of my light landed on - you guessed it - my beloved wheel-barrow herself. Apparently the culprits only took her out for a joy ride, a spin up and down the lane. Well, I ran over to her and took her gently but firmly by the handles, and I bet my smile lit up the alley as I proudly wheeled her back to my yard, stowing her safely in the shelter of my newly built garage. So now she's safe and sound. I only hope the the thieves didn't do anything unspeakable in her back seat!

Oh, by the way, have a very Merry Christmas!!
