It's decided! I'll be making three trips this summer to Landslide Lake and / or (preferably) Lake Of The Falls (David Thompson Hwy / Cline River area of Western Alberta). My first trip will be to pre-hike the trail to familiarize myself with it on the weekend of June 20-22. Then, the weeks of July 21-25 and August 4-8 I'll have the pleasure of sharing this experience with some of Camp Alexo's adventure seeking youth.
If you're looking for something for you or a young person you know to do this summer, my recommendation is Alexo. Camp Alexo (along with the YVC and Red Deer's Boys & Girls club and Big Brothers & Sisters) has played a major role in my life from the age of 5, and every year since. So now it gives me so much pleasure to be able to offer as much as I can to help maintain the amazing experience that I knew it to be. And, ok, I admit it, I still have as much fun there as I ever did.
Other things that are new and upcoming...
I've booked my November trip to Mexico for Travis & Kelly's wedding, as well as my Ships N' Dip Cruise in Feb through the Caribbean, and I've spent the last few weeks packing to get ready to move out! It's a lot of stress, but I know it'll be worth it all once we move into our new home, which I hope will be ready by October. Hmm. Until then, it's time to visit family & friends! Thanks everyone who has offered us a place to live this summer. Much appreciated! |
